Alice Ferrulo began her formal training in dance at the age of eight with the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen, Denmark. She attended Nardin Academy High School in Buffalo, New York. Alice holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in theater with an emphasis in directing via the Theater General Program, 1995, a Master of Arts Degree in dance, theater & film with emphases in performance, choreography & directing via the Individual Interdisciplinary Program, 1994, & a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in dance, summa cum laude, 1985 - all from Ohio University.
She was a company member of Paris & New York based Calck Hook Dance Theater with artistic directors Wendy Shankin-Cohen & Doris Seiden & producer Thomas King Flagg III from 1985 through 1986, & New York based Blondell Cummings & Dancers with artistic director Blondell Cummings from 1985 through 1988.
She served as supervisor of the marketing department of New York’s Metropolitan Opera from 1987 through 1989.
Upon moving to Florida, Alice taught professionally. From 1996 through 2014, she embarked on a subordinate career in the fashion industry, having worked for LOFT, Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers & Donna Karan. It would prove to serve her work tremendously.
Alice also held the positions of gallery manager & interdisciplinary arts educator at Creative Clay, a cultural arts center offering classes to students of all ages with various disabilities, from 2006 through 2007.
Most recently, as master image maker, Alice pursues her artistic endeavors, both performing arts & mixed media fine art, under the umbrella of Black Horse Theatre, L.L.C., which she established in 2006.
She was an associate artist with the Studio@620 from 2007 through 2019, producing on average three works per year. Alice is currently a resident artist of the ArtsXchange, & a member of the Warehouse Arts District Association.
